Some critical features of Romantic Age:-
Pantheism :--- Pantheism is a belief that reflects the awareness of all objects in nature,including trees,rocks,water etc. who believe in pantheism is called pantheistic.In Wordsworth poetry nature is a frequent topic and central theme. Wordsworth defines nature as a guider.He says nature has a healing power. His belief in nature makes him pantheistic.
Mysticism :------ Mysticism is a phenomenon that is used to identify the communion with the unseen.It is a process of communion with God.Who believes in mysticism is called mystic.A mistake does not find reality in the physical world.To them is a soul is more important than a body. To them,the unseen imperishable God is only the real thing in the world.
Imagination:----- Imagination comes from the word image.So imagination is the faculty for action of forming new ideas for image or concepts of external objects that is not present to the sences.
Escapism:----- Escapism is the desire of a tendency to escape from the hard realities of life into fantasy.It implies a loofess from the hard reality of life and an attempt to escape into the world of imagination.The real world is full of sorrow and suffering and pain. Keats is called and escapist.He escapes from the hard realities of life into the beauty of the old Greece.Wordsworth is an escapist in the world of nature and Coleridge in the Supernatural.
Supernaturalism:---- Supernatural is a secular designation for those who believe that there are beings,forces and phenomena such as human soul,God,Angels,miracles etc. It is far from the real world. It is beyond into nature.Colerudge used vivedly supernatural elements in his poems.Such as:-- spectator ship,two hundred sailors,fragmentery state, dream world,comebback life into two hundred sailors,two voices are the supernatural elements that he used into his poem.
